More OLPC info

More coverage and information about my favorite project of the century, OLPC courtesy of SvN.

PC Designs of the Future

When I was a kid the “design of the future” tag line always lured me in, whether it was the Future World exhibit at Disney World in 1987 or prototype cars while attending the Toronto Autoshow with my Dad. That tag line seems to have lost it’s luster since we’re all living the future a [...]

Google My Maps

Lots of opportunity to have fun with this new Google Maps feature. Pretty decent usability as well; Putting together my walk to work route didn’t take much effort.

EMI to deliver DRM-free music via iTunes

Starting in May you can purchase music from EMI without any DRM from iTunes. The content will be at a higher-quality and a higher price point ($1.29 vs $0.99). If EMI can garner enough sales, which I think they will, I’m sure the other major labels will follow. (thx Kottke!)

End of DRM as we know it?

Steve Jobs is calling on major music companies to elimintate copy protection on digital music. Amen.

One Laptop Per Child

One of my favourite humanitarian projects of the century, the OLPC initiative finally has a web site so more people can learn about and support it.
