2009-2010 Toronto Raptors

Proof that I’m keeping up on Bryan Colangelo’s mastermind-like moves to improve Toronto’s NBA franchise. (Much help from RealGM and Doug Smith)

The Big Cactus

Even though it was against my Raps, it was great to see some vintage Shaq. After all, it might be the last time we see a performance like this from THE_REAL_SHAQ.

J.O. for Shawn Marion: Part II

Last month I posted about why it would be a great move for the Raptors to pull the trigger on a Jermaine O’Neal for Shawn Marion trade. Today, ESPN is reporting that trade has materialized with Jamario Moon and Marcus Banks as spare parts.
For Miami, this gets them into the second round of the playoffs, [...]

J.O. for Shawn Marion

I’ve been asked by a few people today about the seemingly impending trade between the Raptors and Heat that would send Jermaine O’Neal to Miami in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks. Here’s my take on this possible transaction:
- Jamario Moon either becomes the sixth man of the year or his days are numbered. [...]

Happy New Year

I just returned from a quick getaway to Ottawa with the lady (via Porter Air, which despite some delays returning, I highly recommend).
Great news upon my return too including the Raptors handedly defeating the (healthy) Houston Rockets, ImageSpark getting warmed-up for it’s launch and my Theory shades arriving; a sweet Christmas gift courtesy of Liz. [...]

Derek Vaz:
they are going to kill us

In other words Raptor fans, savour that sweet double-OT Raptors victory yesterday.

What he said…

I was going to post about Jose Calderon’s All-Star worthy year but it seems ESPN’s John Hollinger has made my case already. And it’s a damn good case.
In his 20 games as a starter, he’s averaging 13.5 points, 9.9 assists, and shooting 50.0 percent from the field. The other overlooked part is that he’s making [...]

Playoff-bound

According to John Hollinger, the Raptors are the 4th most-likeliest team to make the playoffs, as of today. Not bad news a day after letting the Suns get their gun off. (via TrueHoop)

Golden State 106, Toronto 100

Only one good thing came out of that Raptors loss that I attended today.
