Inquiringmind™ Magazine presents their guide to mens fall fashion – The Fall 2008 Buyers Buyble.

Greg Washington and crew always do a great job of executing any feature on inqmnd but this year I witnessed their hard work up close (lots of late nights at the T+L office). The result is as stunning as some of the price tags on the gear. After all, this isn’t so much a buyer’s guide as it is a style guide, complete with great copy on the history and importance of each piece.

While most style guides tend to be too trendy there are staple pieces in this one, specifically the leather bombers and boots, that are timeless. And even the exceptions — the flannel may be a bit over the top for my taste — are pieces I’m sure I’ll see being sported around Toronto soon.

Khoi Vin’s post caught my eye, partly because he makes some solid points about the struggle on how to dress in the design industry but mainly because I wore the SAME CLOTHES on Tuesday — white, short-sleeved, collared shirt, brown cords and my black Chuck Taylors — and I also felt like an idiot all day.

Subtraction: Clothes Make the Design Director
“This morning I woke up and dressed myself all wrong. I don’t know why, but I dressed like an idiot. I put on a short-sleeved, collared shirt that, once I arrived at the office, seemed entirely inappropriate for the workplace; a pair of light brown corduroys that somehow seemed more ill-fitting today than anytime I’ve worn them before; and a pair of black, Chuck Taylor All-Stars-style sneakers more fit for a playground than a meeting room.”

It’s been about 2 1/2 years since I’ve been to a proper sneaker show. Last Friday, Sneaker Pimps rolled through town with exhibitions from international and local artists.

Samuel L. Jackson even stopped by to show some love, rocking the “It’s not easing being green” track jacket, brown cords, and Adicolor Kermit’s. The baddest mf in show biz also looked like he was the stylist mf as well.

Needless to say me and the boys (and lady) at Blast tried to sneak in some off hand paparazzi shots. Enjoy and support your local kick artists.
