United Arrows – Tokyo

A recent podcast from men.style.com featured United Arrows, a mens fashion store in Tokyo, Japan.

When asked how the store expanded from featuring only high fashion formal wear to also selling kimonos and casual street wear Chief Creative Officer, Hirofumi Kurino gives a great response.

He says that that Japan is traditionally a classless society and their tastes in style and fashion should represent that; Even as a business owner, he can be in a suit today but jeans and a t-shirt tomorrow.

I fully subscribe to this ideal. I’ll also add that if you can’t pull off a pair of jeans and sneaks or a nice tie and shirt as a break to your norm, you’re either taking yourself too seriously or not seriously enough.
