New Teehan+Lax Site

Teehan+Lax have a new site. First off let me say how awesome the team who worked on the redesign are. Watching from my desk I saw them buzzing about, working furiously against a soft deadline (the kind that usually doesn’t stick) and still launch a day before schedule. The beauty of the redesign is in [...]

Got $10? Stop the spread of Malaria.

We all know little things can make a huge difference. Take microfinancing as an example. Unfortunately, little things can also have devastating effects. Like mosquitos carrying malaria and biting you when you sleep. Malaria kills more than 1 million children a year. So what can we do about it? Well recently I heard about Nothing [...]

Theory

I’ve been meaning to post about Theory since I came back from my trip to New York earlier this month. Established in New York in 1997, Theory set out to produce comfortable, minimal clothing for women. Their mens line launched in 1999 and their accessories line followed a few years later.

Design Tunes Up Altec Lansing

Great article here about how Altec Lansing is banking on design to help improve the bottom line. Normally, I write off these stories as desperate last ditch attempts from stuffed-shirted CEOs who see Apple making “pretty” products and want to capitalize on it by doing an aesthetic redesign vs a true re-thinking of their product [...]

United Arrows – Tokyo

A recent podcast from men.style.com featured United Arrows, a mens fashion store in Tokyo, Japan. When asked how the store expanded from featuring only high fashion formal wear to also selling kimonos and casual street wear Chief Creative Officer, Hirofumi Kurino gives a great response. He says that that Japan is traditionally a classless society [...]
