The Police

Attended a great show last night. The Police performed live and I have to admit that after some early negative feedback I was contemplating recouping my funds and skipping the show. Alas, Craigslist did not come through for me (for once) and fate lead me to my sweet stage right seats.

Let me say first, yes these guys have aged but man can they still rock. Especially Stewart Copeland, my favorite member of the trio and the true genious behind The Police’s success. Here’s a great interview I found with Copeland from the 80s discussing why the band’s sound was so unique and how much Jamaica and Reggae had to do with inspiring Copeland’s early production. And as easy it is to make fun of some of Sting’s recent musical tastes, he can still control the crowd as well as pitch and bass.

Glad I went.
