The Post-Storm House
The New York Times has a nice slideshow of homes being built, post-Katrina. The homes vary in styles (as most homes in New Orleans do) but what’s interesting is that many are taking this opportunity to rebuild using minimalist and green approaches. Additionally, they’re trying to make homes as flood proof as possible through design, such as homes on high (well-structured) stilts.
