- 7 for 1? Wow
- Forget the finals, Boston still isn’t a lock to win the Atlantic (no one to run the show at the point)
- I am old enough to remember the Herschel Walker trade (and I was living in Dallas in the time) so I can make that comparison
- Doesn’t remind me of the Lakers of ‘04, does remind me of the Rockets of ‘98 (which almost made it all the way, except, that’s right — they had no PG)
- Garnett is probably one of the best dressed dudes in the Leauge, along with Wade and Arenas
- When you trade away 3 active players what depth do you have? Answer: None
- Al Jefferson is really gonna have to shine now, he just went from potential All-Star to potential “Who’s Al Jefferson?” in the PF-loaded West
- Garnett gets to see Bosh at least 4 times a year now…that should be some solid training for a potential KG / Duncan match-up in the finals
- Really, I’m not biased, the Raps are better coached, have proven chemistry, are younger, are 8000% better at the point and deadlier behind the arc than Boston, it’s not going to be a cake-walk for them
- Let’s see the matchups - Garnett-Bosh, Pierce-Parker/Garbo, Allen-Kapono, Rondo-Ford/Calederon, Perkins-Bargnani - You may not believe it but I’ll take that
- I really can’t drive home this Raps point enough, clearly
- If you don’t despise the sound of Stephen A. Smith’s voice already, watch his take on ESPN.com regarding the trade - you’d think the Celtics just locked up the East for the next 4 years, I’m not even linking to it…
- If everyone in the world had Garnett’s work ethic and will to win, we’d all be flying solar powered cars and there would be a cure for AIDS and Cancer
- Here’s how I see the Atlantic ending up - Raps, Nets, Celts, Sixers, Knicks

I say:
Celts
Raps
Nets
Knicks
Sixers
The Raps do have better depth, coaching, and PG play, but I just don’t see that being quite enough. I thought the Raps had better depth and coaching against the Nets last year and they bowed out in the first round.
Yeah, that’s playoffs, though - Nets have Kidd and are wayyy more experienced…Raps still locked up the Atlantic in the regular season though (granted Jefferson was injured but the Raps had Bosh, Garbo and Bargnani injured at various key times). I just don’t see the Celts above the Nets or Raps…even assuming Pierce and Allen stay healthy. But I agree, it will be close.
