By the way, one thing I can say after watching all these Lakers games is that Luke Walton is the winning key here. When he’s healthy the Lakers win. Period. He creates open shots with his totally underrated passing and he’s sick from the perimeter. He dribble-drives like a guard and collapses defenses as good as any forward I’ve seen.
Just look at the game logs. Luke averaged 7 assists/game during that Kobe/Laker win-streak. On paper you may think it’s just him taking advantage of Kobe’s great shooting but it was more the other way around, he was creating great opportunities for Kobe.
Last night, Kobe was a ball hog (7-26 shooting) and Walton barley got to touch the ball, when he did though, good things happened and assoon as he re-entered the game the Lakers went on a tear and almost won. I don’t think it’s a coincidence.
